About
Rize & Dance Afterschool Arts Program offers curriculum-based dance instruction in Jazz, Ballet, Hip-Hop, and Break Dancing. The program includes teaching style technique, choreography, and freestyle, along with goal setting, confidence building, performance, and options for competing at dance competitions and attending conventions through the Rizing Stars Competitive Dance Team.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Afternoon and early evening classes Monday–Friday, in 8-week sessions
All programs run for about 8 weeks and end with a free performance for families, and all dancers learn two dances to perform in two main dance styles, Hip-Hop and Jazz. Classes use age-appropriate, family-friendly music and are curriculum based on California State Standards in Dance, PE, and Afterschool quality, and the program addresses curriculum and point of service standards such as Afterschool Expanded Learning and California State School Standards while teaching dance technique and self development. Rize All focuses on personal development as well as dance technique and training, and dancers gain goal setting, leadership, and other personal characteristics to apply to dance and their lives.
Rize All is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization with a vision to inspire a community of skilled, multi-talented individuals who are able to adapt and succeed in an ever-changing world through their artistic passions. The organization reports that it has provided high quality dance instruction in multiple after school programs to more than 1000 students across the Sacramento area through the Rize & Dance Afterschool Arts Program, and it offers a variety of programs across Sacramento County in school day programs, afterschool programs, charter programs, GATE programs, home school programs, VAPA programs, assemblies, and more. The leadership team for this program includes Dane NewSan (Founder/Director/Dance Instructor), Amanda NewSan (Founder/Director/Dance Instructor), Mona Fan (Lead Dance Instructor), Julia Singletary (Lead Dance Instructor), Jill Akkaya (Dance Instructor), Easton Moore (Dance Instructor), and Averi Moore (Dance Instructor).
