About

Rize & Dance Afterschool Arts Program offers curriculum-based dance instruction in Jazz, Ballet, Hip-Hop, and Break Dancing. Students take part in specific styles and elements such as Breaking (bboying), Locking, Popping, choreography, and freestyle, along with activities that include goal setting, confidence building, performance, leadership, training in performing art forms, and teamwork.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Class options Monday–Friday in the late afternoon and early evening, in sessions that run about 8 weeks

All programs run for about 8 weeks and include a free performance at the end for families to watch, with all dancers learning two dances in two main styles, Hip-Hop and Jazz. Classes follow a curriculum based on California State Standards in Dance, PE, and Afterschool quality, using age-appropriate, family-friendly music. Rize & Dance programs are offered in school day programs, afterschool programs, charter programs, GATE programs, home school programs, VAPA programs, and assemblies, and can be customized for students’ needs. Rize All focuses on both personal development and dance technique and training, with dancers gaining goal setting, leadership, and other personal characteristics to apply to dance and their lives.
