The Tutoring Center Academic Programs focuses on One-to-One Instruction in Reading, Math, and Writing. Each child works in a personalized program that is custom-tailored to their needs, using efficient and proven tutoring methods and a reward system that motivates students.
• Schedule: two or three 60-minute sessions per week
Since 1994, The Tutoring Center Academic Programs has operated as an after-school learning company and now has over 120 locations in 23 states. The program’s mission is stated as “Empowering Children To Reach Their Highest Potential Since 1994.” Founder Edward S. Thalheimer, Ph.D., leads the organization. Every location of The Tutoring Center is carefully designed to help children focus, concentrate, and excel. The program offers a no-cost diagnostic assessment and a comprehensive no-cost report outlining each child’s strengths and weaknesses.
All instructors hold Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degrees and are trained and certified in The Tutoring Center’s Rotational Approach to Learning. Assistant instructors are top students at local colleges and universities, and interns are in the top 5% of their class. Many students are the children of teachers, principals, private school directors, and superintendents of education.
Parent feedback includes comments that the program gave a child “an extra boost for school” and that a child “looks forward to going to tutoring, even after a whole day at school.” Another parent reports that the program has been helping their son improve his reading skills and that he is motivated by the reward system. One parent notes that the free diagnostic test gave insight into where their daughter was academically and that she “can’t wait to go.” Another parent shares that after a couple of months of attending, their child’s report card was all A’s and she had increased three reading levels.
