The Tutoring Center Academic Programs focus on One-to-One Instruction in Reading, Math, and Writing. The program uses a Rotational Approach to Learning to structure each student’s time in these subjects. Students attend two or three 60-minute sessions per week.

The Tutoring Center Academic Programs begin with a no-cost diagnostic assessment before enrollment and provide a comprehensive no-cost report outlining each child's strengths and weaknesses. Each student receives a personalized program that is custom-tailored to the child’s needs. Every location of The Tutoring Center is carefully designed to help children focus, concentrate, and excel, and each location is organized and clutter-free.
The program is led by founder Edward S. Thalheimer, Ph.D. Instructors all hold Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degrees and are trained and certified in The Tutoring Center’s Rotational Approach to Learning. Assistant instructors are top students at local colleges and universities, and interns are in the top 5% of their class. Many students are the children of teachers, principals, private school directors, and superintendents of education.
The Tutoring Center has been operating since 1994 and states that it has helped thousands of children achieve success since opening its first center in California. It now operates over 120 locations in 23 states as an after-school learning company. The mission of The Tutoring Center is to empower children to reach their highest potential by strengthening academic abilities in Reading, Math, and Writing through One-to-One Instruction and the Rotational Approach to Learning.
Parent comments include reports that children look forward to attending, respond well to the environment and reward system, and show changes such as improved report card grades and reading levels.
