Summer Horse Camp

Summer Horse Camp includes hands-on horseback riding, learning about proper care and horsemanship, and daily riding time with a shared horse for the week. Campers take part in activities such as learning about horse health care, physical fitness, proper nutrition, dental care for horses, hoof care, transportation of horses, proper grooming, tack care, riding a horse, driving a horse hooked to a cart, and taking a horse’s temperature. At the end of each day, campers cool down with a swim in the pool, and parents are invited on the last day of camp to watch campers showcase what they have learned.

• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Kids Horse Camp, Tiny Tot Horse Camp, Adult Horse Camp, and Advanced Show Rider Horse Camp are offered in 3- to 5-day sessions with daytime hours between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
• Price: $275–$550 per camper, with a $50 non-refundable deposit to save a camper’s spot

Summer Horse Camp has been offered since 1989 under the leadership of Ann Miller. The stated mission is that the highly-trained staff’s main priority is ensuring a safe, positive riding experience in a fun, friendly environment. The facility is also the home of Cougar Pass Recovery Ranch, which offers assisted therapy.
