Classes at ACAI Studios

Classes at ACAI Studios include Parent/Child Pottery and After School Pottery. Parent/Child Pottery is a four-week class with 4 sessions of 1.5 hours each, and parents and children create together. After School Pottery is a four-week class with 4 sessions of 2 hours each and covers hand-building ceramics, decorating, firing, and glazing. Classes include materials and firing, and both listed classes cost $135.

• Parent/Child Pottery — Ages 5 & Up · Mondays 6:30 – 8:00 pm · $135 · Family class where parents and children create together. Four weeks; 4 sessions, 1.5 hr each; includes materials & firing.
• After School Pottery — Ages 8 to 18 · Thursday afternoons 3:30 – 5:30 pm · $135 · Studio class covering fundamentals of hand-building ceramics, decorating, firing, and glazing; 4 weeks, 4 sessions, 2 hr each; includes materials and firing fee.
• Beginning Handbuilding — Ages 16 through Adults · Wednesday 7 – 9 pm; Saturday 10:00 am – 12 noon · $135 · Learn hand-building and surface decoration; 4 weeks, 4 sessions, 2 hr each; includes material & firing fee.
• Beginning / Intermediate Throwing — Adults Only · Monday evenings 7 – 9 pm; Wednesday evenings 7 – 9 pm; Saturday mornings 8-10 am; Saturday mornings 10:30-12:30 am · $135 · Introductory wheel-throwing class covering wedging, centering, pulling, shaping, trimming, glazing, and firing; 4 weeks, 4 sessions, 2 hr each; includes material & firing fee.

About the provider

ACAI Studios & Gallery promotes and preserves ceramic and other arts. It provides facilities, equipment, education, and gallery exhibits. The studio serves the greater Sacramento Region and has programs for children, beginners, hobbyists, and experienced artists.

Teachers are working ceramic artists. Studio tours can be booked online; available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons with at least one day in advance. The gallery may be viewed at other times by appointment.
