ACAI Studios & Gallery is a warm, friendly non-profit clay studio that offers clay classes, ceramic studio memberships, and a gallery where families can see local art. The ceramics studio provides the space, equipment, and support needed for ceramic arts and includes a Sacramento community art gallery that features local artists, students, and studio members, with work shown in the gallery and sculpture garden. Programs are offered for children, beginners, hobbyists, and experienced artists, and studio memberships give 24/7 access to the ceramics studio and its resources.
ACAI Studios & Gallery is a 501 c3 community ceramics studio operated by Allied Ceramics Art Institute and has a mission to inspire the community by encouraging creativity through the ceramic arts. It promotes and preserves ceramic and other arts by providing facilities, equipment, education, and gallery exhibits as a community non-profit organization. The Sacramento ceramics art gallery strives to highlight artists from Sacramento/Fair Oaks and surrounding areas such as Carmichael, Folsom, Roseville, Lincoln, Gold River/Rancho Cordova, Orangevale, and Citrus Heights, and memberships give ways to become involved in the local art scene and support the arts.
The Sacramento community art gallery features a new gallery show each month, with artist receptions on the third Saturday from 6 pm to 8 pm. The June/July show “Some Walk, Some Swim, Some Fly” includes work by 12 artists in mediums such as oils, photography, mosaics, glass, encaustics, ceramics, and mixed media, and it includes a variety of creatures from spiders to mythological beings, from lions to sealions, and from dogs to cats. There are two members’ areas where decorative and functional pottery is on sale.
Clay and pottery classes run one and a half to two hours per class and for four to six weeks depending on the class. One show opens June 3rd and runs through July 18th, with hours Wednesday through Friday from 1 pm to 4 pm and Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm for that show, and the Artist Reception on June 20th from 4 pm to 6 pm, when the Gallery is open from 11 am to 6 pm.
