Tracking and Backpacking

Tracking and Backpacking offers a variety of hands-on activities for children. Participants engage in planting trees, clearing brush, looking for frogs, and eating wild plants. They also learn skills like making a fire by friction, dyeing a shirt with berries, and creating natural dyes. Other activities include making a meal out of wild plants and turning a piece of wood into an instrument.

Started in 2008, the program is part of Vilda, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating meaningful connection to the natural world. Testimonials from parents highlight the positive impact on children, with one parent noting changes and expansion in their children's awareness of nature. Another parent shared that Vilda is their son's favorite camp.
