Summer Cool Camp includes activities such as scooters, video games, exercise, ping pong, foosball, basketball, slime, board games, traditional camp songs, dancing, singing, and FUN FRIDAY. The program also offers Spanish instruction, practice with states and capitals, public speaking with a microphone, one-on-one tutoring, and access to online monitored educational apps. Campers have lunch, use jumpers, and take part in water play.

Summer Cool Camp is a summer academic camp for Pre-K to 6th grade students that combines school lessons with fun activities and introduces core concepts in math, reading comprehension, cursive, and Spanish. Each student is assigned work based on ability, with a small-group or one-on-one approach, and some 2nd graders work at the middle school math level. The program offers one-on-one tutoring every day at no additional charge with college students, and students are given a login for online monitored educational apps.
Summer Cool Camp was founded by a mom who recognized the learning loss in her children over the summer months, and since 2015 the camp has focused on improving and enhancing children’s learning skills and habits. Teachers at the camp are also parents, and many high schoolers who work there have gone through the program themselves. The camp’s model is described as “having fun and getting the job done,” and the program is described as an extended family where students are loved and are safe.
The camp’s mission states that it is not a school and is designed to keep the mind and body active over the summer, prevent learning loss, encourage confidence, introduce public speaking with a microphone, and offer a dynamic summer. Teachers understand what needs to be mastered in each grade before moving on, and the approach includes support for students who have learning gaps as well as challenging work for students who grasp concepts at an advanced level. The program is committed to making sure students gain confidence to excel during the next school year.
Summer Cool Camp offers its programs to families in Solano County and the rest of the Bay Area. The camp offers sibling and military discounts and accepts the Solano Family Services Childcare Assistance Program, in-house scholarships, sponsorships, and Solano Family and First Five Benefits.
