For over 60 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of North County has served youth, beginning in 1962 as the Boys Club of Fallbrook. The organization later expanded with a branch at the Pala Indian Reservation in 1978, a unit at an elementary school in Bonsall in 1996, and before and after-school sites starting in 2003 at Potter Junior High, 2005 in the Fallbrook Union Elementary School District, and 2007 in the Bonsall Elementary School District. The organization was the first Club in America to be established on Native American land at the Pala Indian Reservation and changed its name to the Boys & Girls Clubs of North County in 1998. A $2.75 million capital campaign launched in 2007 led to facility upgrades completed in 2010–2011, including swimming pool renovations, a music and recording classroom, a computer/education classroom, an art room, a Kaboom playground, and a newly developed parking lot.

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of North County is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need the program most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens, and its programs promote the development of young people by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging, and power or influence. The organization reaches over 2,000 members each year at 10 locations in the Fallbrook, Rainbow, De Luz, and Bonsall communities, serving nearly 2,000 kids every day. Community support includes a swim program sponsored by Fallbrook Regional Health District, carnival activities with Fallbrook Rotary and Fallbrook Roy, and academic success resources supported by Fallbrook’s local Panda Express, with community partnerships helping club members enjoy the pool during the summer.
