Wild Roots Learning Center states a mission of balancing standards-aligned academic learning with relationships, play, nature, inclusion, and love. The program honors each child as an individual and encourages students to converse, share ideas, and build their own capacities through self-directed diligent study or play. It focuses on services for homeschool children during the traditional school year in the Sacramento region and offers enrichment opportunities during school breaks such as summer and holiday breaks, in the evening, and on weekends. The program supports the Common Core State Standards without traditional classroom time constraints and offers core A–G support for high school homeschoolers taught by credentialed teachers. Waldorf-inspired activities, structure, and rhythms are used in early elementary classes, and small class sizes allow for individualized instruction. Interaction across a wide range of ages is encouraged, including mentorship opportunities between older and younger students. Wild Roots Learning Center works with all local homeschool charters as an approved vendor and offers advocate services and consultation for parents, with a goal of developing a Parent Educator Learning Community (PELC). The program describes itself as a community where students and families build relationships with one another and with the surrounding community, with an emphasis on civic responsibility, mindful practices, love of nature, thoughtful reasoning, critical thinking, inclusivity, celebrating diversity, and a love of learning. It states that all are welcome, invites learners to come as they are, and notes that it will support learning every step of the way.

Wild Roots Learning Center has been voted Best Private School, Best Child Day Care, Best Local Summer Camp, Best Preschool, and Best Summer Camps by local publications, including Folsom Telegraph Best of the Best and Folsom Times Best of Times. The program highlights its “BEST of FOLSOM” summer camps and notes that Spring 2026 and Summer 2026 camp registrations are open. Kara, part of the leadership team, has been recognized as Folsom’s Local Hero. The program describes itself as working to better the community and emphasizes community activism and social engagement.
