About
The STARS After School Program offers help with homework, a healthy meal, recreational activity, and exposure to the arts. STARS (Students Together Achieving Results) is an after-school program for elementary students in grades 1–5 and middle school students in grades 6–8. The program offers a setting where kids enjoy a fun, welcoming environment where they can form friendships, and it offers a safe, loving place for kids to be after school, a time when many of them would otherwise be home alone.

Through STARS, struggling students receive both academic help and loving encouragement to keep learning. Folsom's Hope provides after school support to elementary and middle school students through the STARS After School Programs. The program’s leadership includes Salwa Kasabian. One tutor shared, “I have been a volunteer with Folsom’s Hope for two years helping students with their homework as part of the STARS program at Theodore Judah Elementary School. I really enjoy being able to work one-on-one with the students. It is especially rewarding when their faces light up as they finally understand an assignment that has been a challenge for them.”
