Camp Flockworks is part of Flockworks, a non-profit organization whose mission is to grow community resilience through creative art programs and cultural enrichment. Flockworks states that it sparks creativity and curiosity to build resilience in communities and shape a brighter future, and channels resources, talent, and materials to support creative hands-on programs that enrich collaborative learning with students, educators, artists, and community leaders. Since 2006, Flockworks has widened access and participation in community arts. Programs such as Kudos and Assets are described as creating a safe, positive space where children can express themselves, build confidence, and grow. In 2023, Flockworks expanded into full-time management of afterschool programming for the Fort Bragg Unified School District and serves over 400 children and their families each week at multiple sites in Fort Bragg. Flockworks offers free events and activities for artists of all ages.

Flockworks partners with the Fort Bragg Unified School District to bring art into schools, enriching learning and fostering creativity. Flockworks brings hands-on art projects to community events and shared spaces, sparking creative connection, celebrating local culture, and making art a collaborative experience across Fort Bragg and the Mendocino Coast. Flockworks acknowledges the Northern Pomo, Coastal Pomo, Cahto, and Yuki Peoples as the original caretakers of these lands.

Camp Flockworks connects to the Flockworks Creative Center, described as a vibrant community space that is home to monthly art exhibits and creative programs. Leadership includes Janet Self, Artist and Flockworks Founder. As Janet Self states, “The act of creating cultivates courage, insight, patience and hope. It opens a new understanding of the world and can positively shape people and community!”
