The Circle of Horses is a non-profit, community based, equine-assisted program. Participants take part in an equine-assisted program and can receive lessons with a certified therapeutic riding instructor. The program utilizes two types of instructors: a certified therapeutic riding instructor and a trained equine responsive to the participants.

The Circle of Horses is a non-profit, community based, equine-assisted program offering an alternative modality to individuals with physical or cognitive disabilities, depression, stress and anxiety. Program participants include adults as well as children, and veterans and senior citizens are welcome. Volunteers from the community work hard to encourage and support participants, and the program creates an environment allowing individuals to interact with these volunteers. The coast facility offers lessons throughout the year. The program’s key outcome and success measure is the enhancement of the participant's day-to-day listening and speaking skills achieved through improved concentration, patience, confidence, and self esteem, and other stated benefits include better coordination, body strength, and balance. The program is led by Barbara E. Auerbach, Director and certified therapeutic riding instructor.
