Simon Academics offers writing, reading, English, and Language Arts classes, along with college counseling and SAT prep. The program also provides reading help for struggling young readers, one-on-one high school math tutoring, and college application coaching.

Simon Academics offers premium tutoring services designed to deliver real academic progress, with small groups used to address each individual’s needs. The program follows a set curriculum, but pacing and focus depend on student needs rather than worksheets or schedules. It maintains high standards that push students harder than they are used to, with a focus on critical thinking so that “good enough” is no longer considered good enough. The program is known for the best writing classes in Fremont, and expert instructors work with K–12 students on grammar, spelling, punctuation, organization, vocabulary, and critical thinking. GATE students find classes challenging with always a next step, regular education students learn to perform like never before, and students with learning disabilities receive instruction in small, comprehensible steps. Simon Academics started in San Ramon in 2003, and Mr. Simon began teaching in 2003. The leadership team includes Mr. Simon, owner and founder of Simon Academics; Mr. Zybul (Mr. Z); Mrs. Osborne; Mr. Liang; and Ms. Irby. Mr. Simon has a BA in Philosophy from UC Berkeley and a teaching credential from CSU Hayward. Mr. Zybul has a BA in English from UC Irvine and a high school English teaching credential from Chapman University. Mrs. Osborne holds a California Teaching Credential from Notre Dame de Namur and a BA in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz, and she has been teaching and tutoring in the Bay Area since 1991 and editing academic books and manuscripts since 1987. Mr. Liang earned his BS in Biochemistry and teaching credential from UCLA, is currently earning his Masters of Education from UCLA, and is a former Simon Academics student. Ms. Irby has a BA in English Education, an MA in Education Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a credential in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Southern Mississippi, and she began teaching in 2013.
Simon Academics reports that it has former students attending Harvard, Berkeley, Princeton, MIT, CalTech, and many other top schools.
