The Mentorship Program is intended exclusively for children ages 14–15 at this camp location for Summer 2026, where mentees help facilitate camp activities, engage with campers, and help encourage camper connection and participation, using self-directed learning to support mentees. Any unused Mentorship Day Passes are automatically refunded in full at summer’s end, and if fewer than 30 days are used on a Mentorship Summer Pass, the difference from the daily rate is automatically refunded. Returning mentees have a rate of $0.

Way back in 1980, Steve and Kate Susskind created a summer camp after seeing kids’ independence slipping away. The camp’s mission states that all year long kids are in rigid structure, and when summer comes, Steve & Kate’s gives them freedom to expand and evolve by letting campers choose which activities they do, whom they do it with, and for how long. The Fremont camp is led by Director Joshua.

As camp approaches, registered families receive an email link to a virtual camp orientation with information such as local camp drop-off and pick-up procedures, how to check in and out each day, and what to bring or not bring, and families are encouraged to pack extra clothing on hot days for water play games such as a giant sprinkler. Testimonials describe the camp experience, including comments from Andrew Stanton, Apple’s Hot News, Variety magazine, The Washington Post, and the Chicago Tribune.
