About

The Growing Patch Preschool includes hands-on art projects as part of its curriculum. Children also work on creating a book throughout the entire year, adding to it over time as a long-term project.

• Ages: 2–6 years old

Founded in 1991, The Growing Patch Preschool is an early childhood education center owned and operated by a teacher. It has classrooms, bathrooms, and an enormous backyard that were designed and built uniquely for preschoolers ages 2–6. The program uses a structural curriculum with sensory learning that includes visual, auditory, and verbal enrichment, and it offers different programs that group children by age with curriculum specialized for each age group. Class size is set at 2 teachers for a maximum of 15 students, for a 1 to 6 ratio, and various half-day and full-day program options are available. The mission of The Growing Patch Preschool is “Laying the foundation for a better tomorrow,” and its stated focus is on developing each child’s individuality to be creative, thoughtful, and analytical. The program is licensed under The Growing Patch License #103810196 and is described as an early childhood center located in northwest Fresno.

Highly experienced and caring educators work with a loving, nurturing team of teachers that build the foundation of lifelong learning. One parent, Alyson D., described her child’s 1.5 years at The Growing Patch Preschool as an “amazing experience,” and highlighted the teachers, the curriculum, the art projects, and the year-long book project. Another parent, Danielle R., described it as a “fantastic preschool with caring teachers and a curriculum that encourages growth in all areas: literacy, math, music, science, art, creativity, motor, social and more,” and called The Growing Patch “a diamond in the rough.” A third parent, Analicia G., shared that her child Enrique was reading when he graduated preschool and expressed thanks to the teachers.
