About
Crosier Classes offers online Math and Writing instruction, including Online Math classes, Online ELA classes, and puzzle-based activities. Students work with Math homework on the website IXL.com, which accompanies a California Standards textbook, and engage with puzzles as part of the classroom experience.
• Schedule: Fall semester: September 7 – December 18, 2026 (Break Nov 23–27, 2026); Spring semester: January 11 – May 14, 2027 (Break March 15–21, 2027)
Writing students read 3–4 novels per year, and families purchase a vocabulary and grammar book from Wordly Wise 3000 along with a reading comprehension workbook. Math homework takes place on IXL.com, and there is video and written help available at the beginning of each topic. Parents are encouraged to have students show their progress and gradebook at the end of each week.
Crosier Classes is led by Brenda Crosier. Brenda homeschooled her own children to meet their individual needs, including giftedness, avoidance, ADHD, and ASD neurodiversity. According to one family, Brenda Crosier has been supporting their family since 2018.
The stated mission of Crosier Classes is to create an atmosphere where students can acquire grit, use puzzles to improve critical thinking skills, and experience that learning can be fun. The mission also states that the class pursues quality work without stressful perfectionism, that it is acceptable to feel lost or to guess and be wrong, and that both high achievers and those who need more time to absorb concepts participate. The mission further states that the class creates communities of friends who enjoy meeting up each week, that kids often learn from each other, and that the group learns diversity and acceptance while having fun.
Parent and student testimonials describe Brenda tutoring in both math and English, supporting students in pre-algebra through calculus, and teaching English classes that students describe as engaging and supportive. Testimonials also describe Brenda as focused on the individual student over a standardized way of teaching and note that one or more children from a family have worked with her every year since 2017.
