About

Central Cub Day Camp includes activities such as archery, slingshot, crafts, scout skills, sports, woodworking, skits, songs, and jokes. On Friday there is a closing campfire where campers perform skits, songs, and jokes, and parents are invited to attend. Parents can come and eat dinner with their camper at the Friday campfire.

• Ages: 3–11 years old
• Schedule: July 20–24, generally 3:00pm–8:00pm, with a Friday closing campfire between 6:15pm and 8:00pm
• Price: Cost is $175 if registered by June 20th and $195 after June 20th; the cost for campers includes a camp t-shirt; Tot Lot costs $5 per day and includes a camp t-shirt; there is no cost to registering as a youth volunteer

Campers are required to provide their own dinner. Siblings ages 3–5 who have a parent volunteering at camp can register for the Tot Lot, and Tot Lot siblings must be potty trained. The Tot Lot is required to stay in its area at all times under the supervision of the staff, and parents will pick up Tot Lot siblings during the meal break. Siblings in Tot Lot are required to provide their own dinner.

Day Camp is staffed entirely by parents and volunteers. All adult volunteers are required to attend mandatory pre-camp training, and dinner is provided for all adult volunteers. All volunteers attending at least 3 days will receive a camp t-shirt. All Key Staff are required to attend mandatory pre-camp training, complete the AB-506 state training at https://californiascouting.org/oc/ and undergo a Live Scan fingerprint check. All Key Staff are allowed one free camper, must attend the entire time, and will receive a camp t-shirt. Youth volunteers ages 11–13 must have a parent that is also volunteering, per National BSA policies, while youth volunteers ages 14–17 do not require a volunteering parent in camp. There is no cost to registering as a youth volunteer, dinner is provided for all youth volunteers, and youth volunteers will receive a camp t-shirt and earn service hours for their time at day camp.

Campers are placed in dens made up of campers of similar ranks or ages, each with a Den Chief. Non Scouts can now join registered Cub Scouts as campers. Camperships are available for Cub Scout campers. Siblings ages 3–5 who are in the Tot Lot are required to stay in that area at all times under staff supervision. Parents are advised to bring a camp chair to the Friday campfire as there is limited seating. If the parking lot is full, attendees may park in the adjacent neighborhood but are asked to be respectful to the residents. The leadership team includes Camp Director Amanda McCall from Pack 526 and a Program Director.
