Central Cub Day Camp is led by Camp Director Amanda McCall from Pack 526 and a Program Director. Day Camp is staffed entirely by parents and volunteers, and all adults volunteers are required to attend mandatory pre-camp training. All Key Staff are required to attend mandatory pre-camp training, complete the AB-506 state training at https://californiascouting.org/oc/ and undergo a Live Scan fingerprint check, must attend the entire time, and will receive a camp t-shirt, and all Key Staff are allowed one free camper.

Each camper is placed in a den made up of campers of similar ranks or ages, and each den has a Den Chief who leads the den and stays with the den throughout camp. Non Scouts can join registered Cub Scouts as campers. The cost for campers includes a camp t-shirt, and space is limited, so registration opens in January and closes on July 10th.

Youth volunteers are BSA Scout ages 11 to 17, and there is no cost to registering as a youth volunteer. For youths ages 11–13, a parent is required to be volunteering per National BSA policies, while youth ages 14–17 do not require a volunteering parent in camp. Youths need to volunteer for at least three days, are required to attend mandatory pre-camp training, receive dinner and a camp t-shirt, and earn service hours for their time at day camp. Dinner is provided for all adult volunteers, and all volunteers attending at least three days receive a camp t-shirt.

Siblings ages 3–5 who are potty trained and have a parent volunteering at camp can register for the Tot Lot. The Tot Lot is required to stay in its area at all times under the supervision of the staff, parents pick up siblings during the meal break, and siblings are required to provide their own dinner. Campers are required to provide their own dinner, and parents are invited to attend the Friday closing campfire and can eat dinner with their camper. Attendees are asked to park in the lot and bring a camp chair because seating is limited, and if the parking lot is full, they may park in the adjacent neighborhood and are asked to be respectful to the residents. Orange County Council BSA is hosting Cub Day Camp at other locations and dates.
