About
The Riding Coach offers horseback riding lessons that include weekly group classes, single lessons, and trail rides. Instruction covers how horses think and how to care for them, along with time in the saddle during lessons and trail rides.
• Schedule: Weekly group classes, single lessons, and trail rides are available.
The Riding Coach began in June of 1987. Instructors Gudrun Armanski and Carol Reynolds lead the program. Gudrun Armanski graduated from the Bavarian Sports Academy in Munich and has a Master’s degree in Physical Education from California State University, Los Angeles. She has taught horseback riding for California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA), the University of Southern California (USC), and Glendale City College, Community Education. Carol Reynolds has been teaching horseback riding since 1985, has shown in dressage to the fourth level, and trained to Prix St. George. She has an MFA in Art and a Masters in Art Education, and has taught horseback riding for CSULA, USC, and Glendale City College, Community Education. The program describes its mission as a place to learn how to ride, how horses think, and how to care for them. One parent from Glendale, California, described the program as offering “nice horseback riding lessons” with feedback on what riders are doing right and what needs to be improved, and noted that they also schedule trail rides.
