First Christian Church of Glendora began meeting in Glendora under the oak trees in the late 1870s and was officially chartered in 1885, with the congregation moving to the corner of Bennett and Glendora Avenues in 1922. The church states that since 1885 it has been committed to serving and worshiping God and dedicated to meeting the needs of people in Glendora and beyond, describing itself as a community center and affirming that God's doors are open to all. First Christian Church has been led by Pastor Karen Davis since 1993, and she also serves as the Glendora Police Department Chaplain and has served on the Glendora City Council and as the city’s mayor.

The church’s community involvement includes hosting Empty Bowls with soup and bread donated by local restaurants, participating in the Glendora Earth Day Festival with a craft booth and pet blessings, and holding a ribbon cutting with the Chamber to celebrate 25 years of the Art Academy and the opening of the Free Little Art Studio on Glendora Ave. Unique features connected to FCCG Art Academy Youth Programs and related events include a series of free art classes for ages 6–14 during Sunday Service, an Art Show/Open House with student and instructor artwork and demonstrations, drop-off “lock-in” movie workshops themed around films such as Lilo & Stitch and Luca that include cooking and dinner, a Free Little Art Gallery/Free Little Art Studio on Glendora Ave, the Empty Bowls event, blessings of pets at certain events and worship services, and Bibles & Brews meetings to discuss scripture over beverages at the Glendora Market.
