South Coast Karate

South Coast Karate offers Tiny Tigers, Kid Power Programs, Goju Ryu Karate, private lessons, and School Safety Classes. Tiny Tigers includes body movement, control, balance, focus, basic karate movements and techniques, and tools for respect, caring, and thoughtfulness. Kid Power Programs expand on Tiny Tigers skills with more traditional karate techniques and safety awareness role play. Goju Ryu Karate is traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate taught with today’s applications in mind.

Programs

• Tiny Tigers — ages 3-6 · Structured 30 minute classes · $99 per month · Skills with body movement, control, balance and focus. Incorporating basic karate movements and techniques. Introduction of tools to create respect, caring and thoughtfulness.
• Kid Power Programs — ages 5-12 · Structured 40 minute classes · $99 per month · Expanding on Tiny Tigers skills while increasing the movement of traditional karate techniques. Introducing safety awareness skill while role playing scenarios.
• Goju Ryu Karate — ages 13 and up · $99 per month · Traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate taught with todays applications in mind.

About the provider

Brian Jordan is the Chief Instructor and Founder. He started South Coast Karate and developed the KID POWER program for kids 5-13 years of age. In 2004, he developed Tiny Tigers for children 3-6 years old. South Coast Karate has been recognized with KEYT3’s Children First Award and was voted the Santa Barbara Independent’s “Best Martial Arts Studio” in Santa Barbara four consecutive years. It has also presented School Safety Seminars for over 30 years.

• Private Lessons — $40–$60 · Individual one-on-one instruction. $40 for 30 minute lesson or $60 for 1 hour in our Home Dojo. Private lessons are availble at yout home. Pricing varies on travel time.
• School Safety Classes — Seminars are 40-50 minutes in length · $99 · School Safety Seminars presented in individual classes and school-wide assemblies. Topics include dealing with bullies and what to do if approached by a stranger.
