AYSO Area 1D EPIC (Everyone Plays in Our Community) Program includes soccer games as part of its activities. The program also offers a visit from the Fire Department and Police Department, including Gabby the Speaking Patrol Car, a K-9 dog, and mounted police. Players take part in an awards ceremony and are given lunch as part of the event.

• Schedule: The 25th Annual VIP Festival and Application is scheduled for Saturday, October 18.

The EPIC (Everyone Plays in Our Community -- Formerly VIP) Friendship Tournament serves mentally and physically challenged players. Players are provided with a complete day of activities. The program uses “buddies” from non-VIP teams to help players both on and off the field. The EPIC Program provides a quality soccer experience for children and adults whose physical or mental disabilities make it difficult to successfully participate on mainstream teams. Teams can have as few as five players, and teams may be co-ed. EPIC teams are balanced with players rated by size and physical ability, and older and younger players form their own divisions when numbers allow.
The event is described as the 25th Annual VIP Festival. Players are participating from several regions including El Segundo, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach and Westchester. The program’s mission statement is “Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.” AYSO Area 1D has the credential “Area 1D 2026 Area of the Year.”
