Summer Kids Kamp registration is open, and registration is accepted online only. A new registration packet must be filled out for every seasonal kamp, and hard copies are no longer available in person. Kids Kamp fees are used to offset the costs of operating the program. Weekly payments must be paid by the Thursday prior to the week attending, and if payment is not made by that Thursday, the child will be unable to attend the following week. The online system takes Visa, MasterCard, Amex, and Discover, and there are no multiple-child discounts. Parents and guardians can drop off and pick up children anytime between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. A late fee of $5.00 per child for every 15 minutes, or a fraction thereof, is applied if children are not picked up promptly at the scheduled end time, and this late fee must be paid before children can return to Kids Kamp. It is recommended that the parent or guardian apply sunscreen before attending the program, as staff will not apply sunscreen on participants; participants may bring sunscreen with them, and spray-on sunscreen is highly recommended. Parents and guardians are responsible for providing their children with two snacks, lunch, and plenty of water.

The Hesperia Recreation and Park District, established in 1957, operates Kids Kamp under its mission of “Connecting Our Community through Recreation and Wellness.” The District is a public agency that provides parks and recreation facilities to residents within its sphere of influence, including the City of Hesperia and portions of the unincorporated area of Oak Hills, Summit Valley, and Phelan, and it partners with the Hesperia Area Recreation District, a non-profit organization.
