Hollister Methodist Preschool was established in 1971 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2021. The Director is Shaylynn Lucas. The Director and teaching staff have many years of experience in early childhood education and meet all State of California licensing requirements. The program holds License # 350703360. The mission of Hollister Methodist Preschool is to provide children the opportunity for new learning experiences in a safe and caring environment, to see each child as a unique expression of God, to teach the love and acceptance of Christ, and to radiate that love throughout the community and in the care of God’s creation. The program is supported in part by a grant from the Community Foundation for San Benito County for the development of its logo, website, and Take Home Learning Packet Program for Covid remote learning. The program notes that all are welcome in everything it does and that it is proud of its reputation for providing a high quality, developmentally appropriate, well-rounded preschool education for children 2–5 years of age and potty trained.
