About

IPSF Summer Classes & Camps offers academic and enrichment classes where students can take grade-specific prep classes, a fundamentals series, and enrichment classes in areas such as ACT preparation, SAT preparation, STEAM exploration, creative performing and fine arts, culinary adventures, and recreational activities. Classes are project-based and are structured to challenge students to discover new ways of thinking through problem solving and creativity. Students in grades PreK-12 who meet age and grade requirements may attend classes, no matter where they live, and all students must be enrolled by their parent or guardian through an online enrollment system.

Elementary students can enroll in up to two periods of in-person classes per day, with a morning period from 8:45 am to 11:45 am, an optional supervised lunch for full-day students from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm, and an afternoon period from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm during Session A (June 22 – July 10, no class July 3) and Session B (July 13 – July 31). Middle school classes follow the same Session A and B dates, with Period 1 from 8:45 am to 10:30 am and Period 2 from 10:45 am to 12:30 pm. High school classes also follow Session A and B, with a daily schedule from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. Specialty Camps and Innovation Camps at Camp Galileo occur outside of the Session A and B format, with Innovation Camps offering a mix of summer camp activities and hands-on learning organized around different weekly themes, and IPSF Specialty Camps providing hands-on, immersive experiences.

Credentialed teachers develop the curriculum, and classes are taught by IUSD teachers and IPSF-approved vendors. A High School Volunteer Program is available for enthusiastic and responsible high school students who enjoy working with children. It is recommended that students learning English enroll in English Immersion classes or non-academic-focused classes including Art, Sports/Fitness, and STEAM. A non-refundable registration fee is assessed at the time of registration for out-of-state and international students, and IPSF does not work with any outside groups or agencies who bring international students to Irvine, and agencies are not permitted to enroll on behalf of a family. The office is open by appointment only, and families are directed to review important information before the first day of camp, including pick up and drop off, health accommodations, and camp policies. All specialty camps are held at various sites throughout Irvine, most classes are located on various IUSD campuses throughout Irvine, and all donations are matched by the City of Irvine.

The mission of IPSF Summer Classes & Camps is to enrich the educational experience of each child in every school by providing programs, raising funds, and uniting the community in support of educational excellence.
