About

RAD Camp offers activities in art, drama, music, science, and sports. The program includes overnight camps that provide round-the-clock care, friendship, and fun for participants. RAD Club also offers entertaining camp videos, activity tutorials, and resources to continue camp-style activities throughout the year. Programs and camps are available for both adults and children with developmental disabilities in an all-inclusive community serving all genders, ethnicities, and developmental disabilities including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and Down Syndrome.

• Ages: 0–18 years old
• Schedule: RAD Jr runs June 18–21; RAD Camp Session A runs July 11–16; RAD Camp Session B runs July 25–30 (camper arrival dates; volunteers arrive one day prior)

RAD Camp’s mission is “Rising Above Disabilities,” with programs and camps for adults and children with developmental disabilities, respite for their caregivers, and a volunteer experience for the local community. RAD Camp, Inc. is described as a charitable organization and is powered by a volunteer community that includes individuals from 58 high schools and 56 colleges across the United States.

The leadership team includes Co-Founders Katie Webb Brundige (Executive Director of Awesome {Programming}) and Meghan “Megz” Clem (Executive Director of Awesome {Development}), Program Director Reagan Blason Farrell, Development Director Colleen Farrell, Program and Participant Manager Reina Sambrano, Communications and Development Sr. Coordinator Victoria Sanchez, and Event Manager Jackie Jones. Board members include professionals such as Paul Nolta (Board Chair, Managing Director, J.P. Morgan Private Bank), Amy Stephens (Vice Chair, Office Manager, Ferguson Braswell Fraser Kubasta), and others from fields including law, education, healthcare, public relations, operations, and business leadership, along with honorary board members Rick Lewis, Bill Shumard, and Rand Sperry.

Staff credentials include degrees in Hospitality, Event and Tourism Management, Public Relations, psychology, Educational Psychology, School Psychology, Journalism, Communications with a minor in Cinema and Television Arts, and Hospitality Management with a focus in Meeting and Event Planning from institutions such as San Diego State University, USC, Chapman University, San Francisco State University, California State University Fullerton, and the University of Alabama. RAD Camp held its first camp in 2014.
