About

The IVRAP Summer Program includes arts and crafts, recreational games, STEM projects, outdoor adventures, soccer, dodge ball, relay races, and both structured activities and free play. Participants also take part in team bonding activities, Nature Walks to a local park or beach, activities with the YMCA, and weekly field trips to local parks, museums, cultural centers, and recreation areas in Santa Barbara County.

• Ages: 6–11 years old
• Schedule: June 15th to August 14th, with daily drop-off from 8:45am–9:00am and pick-up from 5:00pm–5:15pm
• Price: Free; each field trip has a $10 fee that can be paid in cash or check prior to the field trip

The daily schedule includes check-in and free play from 8:45am–9:15am, breakfast from 9:30am–10:00am, a team bonding activity from 10:00am–10:15am, and a structured activity from 10:30am–11:30am. Lunch and free play run from 11:30am–12:30pm, with a field trip on Friday during this time. From 12:30pm–1:30pm, the schedule includes a Nature Walk to a local park or beach, an activity with the YMCA, or a Nature Walk to a local park or beach, with bagged lunches provided on Fridays. Snack and free play take place from 1:30pm–2:00pm, followed by a structured activity from 2:00pm–4:00pm, and snack, free play, and pick-up from 4:00pm–5:00pm.

The program is free and provides free breakfast and lunch for all participants through support from the Goleta School Unified District (GUSD). Weekly field trips to local parks, museums, cultural centers, and recreation areas in Santa Barbara County are included, and program leaders are bilingual in English and Spanish. The program uses a Summer Food Service Menu, and parents receive a meal calendar similar to school meal calendars in their welcome packets.

The leadership and staff team includes General Manager Kimberly Kiefer, Assistant General Manager Luis Valerio, Recreation Coordinator Oscar Ramirez, Park Ranger Juan Flores, Community Garden Coordinator Danielle Bushar, Stewardship Coordinator Leila Dagan, Office Coordinator Taytum Cameron, Administrative Assistant Talyah Simmons, Recreation Leaders Erin Longerbone, Andres Barraza, Rudolpho Perez, Andres Navar, and Dylan Tilton, Grounds Leads Carlos Velasco and Mark Carpenter, and Grounds Workers Jose Castillo and Rodolfo Plancarte. Parents are required to inform the program coordinator two weeks before an extended absence and to inform the program coordinator or staff at the beginning of the week if there will be an early pick-up or late drop-off.
