Above All Pilot Summer Camp includes daily ground instruction, flight instruction, and an aviation-themed activity. Campers spend time learning about weather, aerodynamics, airplane systems, aircraft parts and control surfaces, aircraft instruments, how to preflight an aircraft, computing cross-country flight plans, and radio communication. Activities also include a paper airplane contest, quizzes, an airplane design challenge, an introduction to basic flight skills, a flight to another airport, and tours of the Santa Barbara Air Traffic Control tower, a Fire Station, and the Above All Aviation maintenance facility with an oil change demonstration by A&P mechanics.
• Schedule: Five days of flight training, Monday, July 27th through Friday, July 31st, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM in Summer 2026
• Price: Camp price is $2,000.
Above All Pilot Summer Camp takes place at Above All Aviation, a flight school and flying club with 13 airplanes, a full-motion flight simulator, a full-time maintenance facility, and a club house. Flight instruction time is split between aircraft and the full-motion simulator, and both count toward FAA flight experience requirements. All participants receive an Above All Aviation t-shirt and a logbook, and private instruction is available after camp each day from 2:00 PM–5:00 PM and from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
The camp is led by a staff of highly qualified instructors with experience in over 40 different models of aircraft, along with A&P mechanics who provide the oil change demonstration. Above All Aviation states that its mission is to provide flight training with the core values of safety, quality, integrity, and value. Above All Aviation is the only flight school in Santa Barbara offering FAA Certificated Part 141 training programs and has earned an AOPA Flight Training Experience Award. It is described as Santa Barbara’s #1 flight school and only Part 141 training program, offers the only FAA approved scenic flight tour in Santa Barbara, provides Part 135 charter flight services, and operates Santa Barbara’s premier flying club with access to a variety of aircraft, a club house, discounted pricing, and pricing based on tach time rather than a Hobbs meter.
