Harriet Plummer Aquatic School offers private swimming lessons and competitive stroke coaching in a non-parent participation format, with one-on-one instruction between the instructor and student. Each 20-minute lesson is customized to meet the student’s abilities and maturity, using a progression-based curriculum that includes the option to use Harriet Plummer Fins and The Boost Flipper, described as fins to grow with a child. The program operates as a year-round swim program and welcomes students with special needs, serving swimmers from non-swimming levels through competitive stroke coaching.

• Schedule: Business hours Monday–Thursday from 11:00am to 6:00pm, with Winter/Spring 2026 lessons offered once a week in a consistent 20-minute time slot between January 5 and May 18 (19-week semester)

The Winter/Spring 2026 semester runs from the week of January 5, 2026, through the week of May 18, 2026, and enrollment in this semester is a commitment to the full 19 weeks. Swimmers at least 5 years of age can be considered for 40-minute sessions. From January through March, the pool is completely enclosed with warm indoor air and a 92-degree water temperature.

Harriet Plummer Aquatic School has operated as the East Bay’s premier swim school since 1972 and reports over 50 years of experience. The program uses the award-winning Harriet Plummer Method, which has taught thousands of children to be safe and confident swimmers who learn to swim with outstanding technique, with an emphasis on swimming fundamentals and a stated priority on safety. Instructors are described as knowledgeable, kind, mature, and professional, and they conduct lessons in a mature, positive, engaging, and structured manner with a commitment to water safety.
