Art & Creativity for Healing – Art4Healing Workshops offers expressive abstract art workshops that use the Art4Healing method to support emotional expression on canvas. The program includes in-studio Art4Healing workshops, live Zoom workshops such as “Expressing From Within,” “Expressing Purpose, Identity & Value,” “A Journey With Color,” and “Missing You – Celebration of Life with Art4Healing,” as well as specific classes like “Expressing Feelings with Color” and the “Painting Hope” workshop. Select courses are also available as pre-recorded curriculum.

• Schedule: Art4Healing International Certification is completed online within a 9‑month timeline.

Since its inception in 2000, Art & Creativity for Healing has used the Art4Healing method to support emotional healing for children, families, individuals, and military personnel through strictly guided exercises that are specially designed to elicit emotional responses. The organization states that it is not an Art Therapy provider, that art therapy is a legally separate field of practice, and that its leaders are facilitators of the creative process who do not offer interpretation or diagnosis, with the focus remaining on participants being in charge of their own exploration. The unique Art4Healing method was developed by Founder Laurie Zagon, and trained and certified facilitators share this methodology in workshops offered in the studio in Laguna Hills, live via Zoom, and through online pre-recorded courses.
Art & Creativity for Healing is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers the only accredited certification program in the Art4Healing method and the only globally and internationally recognized Art4Healing Certification of its kind, which is available exclusively online; students in this certification are matched with an Art4Healing Coach who answers questions and reviews their assignments and the workshops they have facilitated. The organization partners with schools, shelters, and other nonprofit agencies and works with more than 35 nonprofit program partners in Orange and San Diego counties to integrate Art4Healing programs. Its mission is to support emotional healing through art and creative expression for those living in pain, grief, fear, or stress.
Parents and participants have shared that Art4Healing workshops and classes, including “Expressing Feelings with Color” and “Painting Hope,” have been relaxing, freeing, and helpful for expressing emotions, processing experiences such as grief, abuse, combat injury, and sexual assault, and creating paintings that reflect both challenges and hope.
