About
Wave Gymnastics offers gymnastics and tumbling that include specific skills such as forward rolls and back handsprings. The program also includes handstand games and team building games. One parent described Wave Gymnastics as “a quality gym with competitive fun.”
Angie and Tina started Wave Gymnastics in 2017. They have been in the gymnastics business for over 40 years as of 2024, and each has been a competitive gymnast and a coach for more than 36 years. Wave Gymnastics has four competitive teams ranging from level 3 to level 9. The program focuses on strength, flexibility, and confidence to increase athletic ability and overall performance, and includes Friday handstand and team building games with friends. Angie and Tina are described as dedicated to making a safe space where girls can “fly to their hearts content,” and they started the gym because they believed they could build a place where their hard work and dedication can come to life.
Wave Gymnastics states that it aims to build a better gymnastics environment. The program’s mission explains that gymnastics is a hard sport that requires a lot of training and dedication, and that most gyms over train their gymnasts, which can lead to them leaving the sport. Wave Gymnastics states that it tries to coach with care by making sure the athletes have a well balanced life, reinforcing good habits and form with an understanding of their limits. Through Wave Gymnastics, the program states that it hopes people not only enjoy their time there, but also leave with a newfound confidence in their abilities to do their best.
