Dennis Frayne Music Schools & Music Lessons offers music lessons in piano, voice and singing, guitar, drums and percussion, strings, and music theory and production. The program also includes musical entertainment and instruction in band, choir, class piano, and percussion on drums and keyboards. Activities further include composing, arranging, and the use of published music curriculum and vocal and instrumental method books.
The program is led by Dr. Dennis Frayne, Ed. D., an arts, music, and education advocate, school owner and developer, pianist, teacher, composer, conductor, music and theater director, educational leader, author, publisher, and manufacturer of music teaching aids, toys, and games. Dr. Frayne holds Associate of Arts degrees in Music and Theater Arts from Saddleback College; a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education with a choral, vocal, and piano emphasis from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach; a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater Arts; California teaching credentials in Music, Theater Arts, Arts and Entertainment, Business, and Information Technology; a Master of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Social Justice and Equity from California State University, Fresno; and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from California State University, Fresno.
The program’s stated mission is that music is for everyone and that everyone can make music part of their lives for career, school, church, or personal enjoyment and satisfaction, and that music is described as a miraculous gift that heals, connects people, entertains, and contributes to spiritual fulfillment and joy. Dennis Frayne has directed after-school musical theater, choir, and other music programs, including The Wooden Floor (Dance) and KidSingers (Choir) in Santa Ana, and has taught music, choir, and musical theater at Blessed Sacrament Church School in Westminster and St. Edward the Confessor Parish School in Dana Point. He has also taught music, choir, band, and class piano at Whitmore Charter School of Art and Technology in Ceres; music, choir, band, guitar, and percussion in the Menifee Union School District; and class piano at Our Lady of the Valley in Hemet, and has directed church choirs and/or played piano and sometimes organ for churches in Tustin, Westminster, and Hemet.
Under the names “Dennis Music” and “Presto! It’s Music Magic Publishing,” Dennis Frayne publishes music education materials, music books, method books, sheet music, teaching aids, music instruments, learning aids, toys, and games, and develops and uses the Presto! It’s Piano Magic series and Presto’s Music Teaching Aids in music studios, music schools, and music classrooms. He operates an education scholarship foundation called Scholarship Squirrel and is developing a K-12 general education school, Unschool Academy of Art, Science, and Business, which is described as a unique, forward-thinking K-12 learning community where active, curious, independent, and caring students, together with their teachers, will explore, discover, learn, grow, thrive, do business, and where children and youth are both teachers and learners and can express and develop into their true and authentic selves. The program is also associated with KINGS Musical, described as a Ragtime Opera telling the story of Harry Houdini with the music of Scott Joplin by Dennis Frayne and Desha Dunnahoe.
