Unity Ice Academy After-School Program includes tutoring and homework help, on-ice instruction, and mentorship and team-building activities. The program offers one-on-one and small-group academic support from tutors and volunteers, along with professional skating lessons. All skill levels are welcome, and no skating experience is required.
• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Thursdays, 4:00–6:30 PM
• Price: $50 per month
Healthy snacks and all learning materials are included, and scholarships are available. The program notes that no skating experience is required and asks participants to bring enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Unity Ice Academy is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The leadership team includes Founder Ashleigh Ellis and On-Ice Director Starr Andrews. Starr Andrews is a prominent figure in figure skating, a distinguished member of Team USA, and has competed at the highest levels internationally. The mission of Unity Ice Academy is to open the door to figure skating while empowering children with confidence, determination, and drive to succeed on and off the ice. An Open House is scheduled on April 16th from 5:15 PM–6:30 PM at The Rinks – Lakewood ICE.
