The league is divided into five divisions based on grade, and divisions may be co-ed or split into boys and girls depending on the teams and players that register. AVAC has been established for over 30 years in creating youth community opportunities and players collaboration strategies. The program’s stated mission, through the Social Justice League Institute, is: “We work to transform neighborhood conditions by improving the built environment and expanding access to resources that enable residents to be healthy and thrive.” The BLKNGLD Network is described as a resource to the community that provides marketing tools and apps, design and branding, grant writing, promotion, and networking opportunities at an affordable cost for community-based efforts and nonprofits. Activities may take place at Antelope Valley Union High Schools and City of Palmdale facilities.
