The center’s mission is to provide the highest quality care and education through a child-centered approach where each child can develop his or her fullest potential. The program focuses on social emotional, cognitive, communication, and motor skills, with an emphasis on positive relationships, self-esteem, self-confidence, and positive relationships with peers and adults. The curriculum covers subjects such as math, science, and language arts, with opportunities for art and music exploration, and uses curriculum-based activities chosen based on the needs of the children enrolled and kindergarten readiness. The program uses teachable moments, such as setting the table to teach counting, patterning, and one-to-one correspondence, and may involve looking up information using books, magazines, and computers. Childcare areas are arranged to offer challenging, interesting play and learning choices at a range of developmental levels, and social and self-help skills are reinforced through modeling responsibility, acceptance, caring, sharing, and respect. The program states a belief that all children are capable of greatness and can reach their fullest potential in a supportive, loving, risk-taking environment where creativity and curiosity are encouraged, and that children should be encouraged to ask questions, problem solve, and explore areas of interest. The stated ultimate mission is to ensure that all children develop a love of learning through the power of STEAM, with a goal that children develop positive self-esteem and a love of learning that will follow them throughout their lives.
