About
Wiley Academy for Specialized Learning (WASL) Therapeutic Preschool is a therapeutic language-based preschool program where children take part in language-based methods to support growth and development in communication. Children are exposed to a range of language-based methods throughout the course of the school day, and all classes are led by licensed or clinical fellowship speech-language pathologists. Ideal participants include children with speech and language delays, an autism diagnosis and/or other developmental delays, who are able to follow simple adult directives, and all children must be ambulatory.
• Ages: 3–5 years old
The program uses evidence-based practices embedded throughout the course of the school day and maintains small 1:3 and 1:2 staff-to-child ratios. Wiley Academy for Specialized Learning (WASL) Therapeutic Preschool offers rolling enrollment. The program is part of The Wiley Center for Speech and Language Development, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing evidence-based services to children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other special needs. The primary purpose of The Wiley Center is to provide comprehensive treatment and services to children and their families diagnosed with ASD and other special needs regardless of income.
All classes are led by licensed or clinical fellowship speech-language pathologists. The program is led by Pamela Wiley, Ph.D., who is President of the Los Angeles Speech and Language Therapy Center, Inc. and founder of The Wiley Center for Speech and Language Development. The Wiley Center for Speech and Language Development is a nonprofit organization, and Pamela Wiley, Ph.D. is a fellow of the American Speech and Language Hearing Association and in 2020 was awarded Honors of her association.
