The Culture House, 1170 E. Joiner Pkwy, Lincoln, CA 95648
About
Visual Arts & Creative Storytelling Camps gives students time for ice breakers, art projects, games, and visual storytelling. During each camp, students also prepare an art gallery to share everything they have worked on with family and friends on the last day. Camps are capped at 10–12 students per week to maintain low student to teacher ratios.
• Ages: 7–17 years old
• Schedule: Weeklong camps and a mini-camp, all running 9am–12pm each day
• Price: Weeklong Camps: $199 ($169 with multi-family discount); Mini-Camp: $149 ($129 with multi-family discount); Multi-family discounts and scholarships available
Visual Arts & Creative Storytelling Camps are part of The Culture House’s Visual Arts & Creative Storytelling Camps for Grades 2–5 and Grades 6–12, with Summer Camps 2026 registration now open. Weeklong camps run July 6–10 and July 27–31 for Grades 2–5, and a mini-camp runs July 13–15 for Grades 6–12. The Culture House provides scholarships, personalized mentorship and instruction, accommodations for different learning and sensory needs, and hospitable spaces for all.
The Culture House’s mission is to partner with the community to provide sustainable and intergenerational opportunities for creating, growing, and sharing stories through the arts. The team includes Founder & Director Jana Dykhuis, who has degrees and experience in arts education from traditional classroom teaching to summer camps, along with Assistant Directors and Summer Interns who are studying or have graduated with degrees in education, music, or the arts. All personnel complete background checks and training prior to camps. The Culture House leadership team includes Founder & Director Jana Qiu and a Board of Directors made up of Jana Qiu (President), Kevin Adams (Vice President), Elena Bolha (Secretary), Timothy Dykhuis (Treasurer), and Samantha Born (Board Member).
Parent and community testimonials describe students loving Jana’s teaching and classical training, a 10-year-old having “the best time” at the creative arts and storytelling camp and being excited to share everything made during the week, and a child looking forward to attending the art camp again. Another community member describes The Culture House as a great space for music and art lovers, enjoying several music shows, and noting Jana’s talent and enthusiasm with her choir and the children she teaches.
