About

Firefighters Kids Camp is an annual program designed to benefit young burn survivors. The program is part of the Firefighters Kids Camp and Little Heroes Family Burn Camp offerings, which both encourage healing, personal growth, and character development for campers and their families.

• Ages: 6–17 years old
• Schedule: June 21–26, 2026

The Firefighters Kids Camp program is supported by a well-trained volunteer staff of firefighters, burn care professionals, adult burn survivors, nurses, mental health specialists, and trained recreational leaders. Its mission is to provide young burn survivors with a fun and safe camp environment that encourages healing, personal growth, and character development. The program is run by the Firefighters Burn Institute, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization founded by Sacramento Fire Captain Cliff Haskell and the Sacramento Area Fire Fighters, Local 522 in 1973. The Firefighters Burn Institute meets the Northeast California Better Business Bureau standards for ethical conduct and charitable accountability. The Firefighters Burn Institute recognizes Reflect Kindness for sponsoring Firefighters Kids Camp, and Reflect Kindness seeks to foster resilience and self-sufficiency through comprehensive support for individuals and families facing overwhelming hardships.
