About

Swim Lessons take place in a setting that includes lap swimming, recreational swimming, and structured swim lessons. The program is part of a broader aquatics offering that also includes water exercise and recreation swim, along with access to a main pool and an activity pool with interactive water features.

• Schedule: Swim Lesson Registration Opens Wednesday, March 25 at 9 am; general hours are Monday–Thursday 8:30 am–6 pm and Friday 8:30 am–5 pm

The swim lessons are offered within a larger aquatics program that also includes water polo, masters water polo, exercise classes, lap swim, pool rentals, and recreation swim. The program is operated by the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District, which was created in 1947 by a vote of the public. The District’s mission is to provide recreation programs and facilities that enhance the quality of life within its service area, and it states that its mission is to provide access to services for everyone. The District notes that recreation swim is seasonal while the facility operates year-round, and it has a Strategic Plan 2024 that was approved on March 27, 2024. The District states that it believes unique perspectives strengthen the organization, that representation, fairness, and belonging enable it to provide better programs, and that its strategy is to reflect the community it serves while acknowledging its history and an evolving landscape of employee and community needs.
