Team Martial Arts offers martial arts programs for all skill levels, experience levels, and ages, including a Champions program for ages 3½–6 years old, a Youth program for ages 7–11 years old, a Teens program for ages 12+ years old, and an Adults program for ages 15+ years old. All of the instructors have reached black belt status, and the program is led by Wade Taylor (Sifu Wade), a fourth-degree black belt instructor who is also referred to as Chief Wade. Team Martial Arts has been teaching martial arts classes to the Tri-Valley area for more than 10 years and states that involvement in martial arts lessons helps younger participants take the basic principles home with them.

Kajukenbo, the art from which their kenpō style is derived, was officially founded in Oahu, Hawai‘i in 1947 by Adriano Emperado, and its name is an acronym for KArate, JUdo/jitsu, KENpo, and BOxing, with the name of the art holding the stated philosophical meaning, “Through this fist style, one gains long life, and happiness.” Team Martial Arts describes its philosophy as one of positive reinforcement, summarized as “catch students doing it right vs. catch them doing it wrong,” and states that this approach supports a balance of fun and discipline in each class. The program emphasizes the basic principles of modesty, courtesy, integrity, perseverance, courage, and the indomitable spirit in all of its programs and uses the TEAM method: Together Everyone Achieves More.

Team Martial Arts offers month-to-month memberships with no long-term contracts, no cancellation fees, no testing fees, and no enrollment fees. The organization states that it is a martial arts facility dedicated to helping everyone in the family become the best version of themselves through discipline, meditation, and physical conditioning, and that it is proud the Tri-Valley community has trusted them for more than 10 years to teach martial arts to the entire family. One parent, Jon L., states that “Wade is great with kids! He knows each child and their skill level, ensuring no one is pushed beyond their limits. He places focus on manners, concentration and technique. Parents are encouraged to be involved in the decision making of advancement.” Another parent, Daniel M., states that “The instructors at TMA are great at getting and keeping the kids motivate the entire class.”
