About
Alpert JCC Early Childhood Education offers preschool experiences rooted in play and grounded in purpose. The program uses a curriculum that borrows from Judaic tradition and values and is heavily inspired by the theories and philosophies of the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy. In small classes, children engage in research, inquiry, and critical thinking, based on programs that draw on current research in brain development and child development theory.
• Ages: 1–5 years old
Alpert JCC Early Childhood Education is now enrolling Toddlers (18 months and older), Preschool (for children born between 9/2/2022 and 9/1/2024), and Pre-K (for children born between 9/2/2021 and 9/1/2022). The program states that it proudly includes books with LGBTQ+ and multicultural representation. The program reports that it is extending its hours and offering more schedule flexibility than before. According to its mission statement, Alpert JCC Early Childhood Education creates vibrant, laughter-filled preschool environments where children grow, learn, and play every day. The AJCC ECE is open to families of all faiths, backgrounds, and walks of life. The preschool has been voted among the best in Long Beach. The leadership team includes Emily Gould, Executive Director of Children, Youth & Families.
