Since 2014, Victoria Dye Equestrian has been providing lesson programs and riding camps and has been managing Westwind Community Barn, with additional reference to 2015 in the program’s history. The leadership team includes Torie Dye as Owner, Head Trainer and Barn Manager; Heather Franco as Scheduling Manager; Kate Richardson as Instructor; and Cam Trepanier as Summer Instructor. Torie has been the manager of Westwind Community Barn since 2014, has been riding since age 7, was an avid member of United States Pony Club, attended the United States Pony Club National Championships twice, and achieved a C-3 Rating. While studying Animal Science and Equine Science at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Torie was the coach and president of the dressage team, attended the Intercollegiate Dressage Association National Championships twice, placed first individually, and helped her team earn a 4th place national ranking. Torie was a student intern at Pioneer Equine Hospital studying equine medical care, was assistant trainer at Millers Equestrian Center and Sanctuary, and was Director of School Horse Operations at Fremont Hills Stable.

The program’s stated focus is on the fundamentals of riding and establishing strong horsemanship skills, including how to safely handle the horse, proper grooming techniques, care and maintenance of tack, and learning the unique characteristics of the horse. The program notes that it is the mastery of this basic knowledge, combined with safe riding practices, that creates a true “horseperson.” Victoria Dye Equestrian reports success for its middle and high school teams at Interscholastic Equestrian Association meets, including the Westwind IEA team finishing the year as Region 4 high point for both middle school and high school teams, and the high school team earning a zone champion title. Westwind Community Barn and neighboring Byrne Preserve open space are described as offering a refuge from the hectic pressures of Silicon Valley, and the Westwind Riding Institute gives kids with disabilities the opportunity to have fun and improve strength and coordination through a therapeutic riding program. The Los Altos Hills Horsemen's Association is described as being dedicated to keeping good horsemanship alive in the town through sponsoring events and advocating for improved horse facilities and trails, and thousands of volunteers, including many high school students, have contributed community service hours. The establishment of the riding program is described as a response to the Town Council’s 1977 wish that Westwind Community Barn serve “the broader community.”
