Lightning Youth Field Hockey offers field hockey practices, training sessions, scrimmages, and tournaments that include warm-up and fitness drills, individual skill work, dribbling drills, and one-on-one drills. The program also runs clinics as part of its activities.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: 8 training sessions from June 7 to July 19, 2026, with practices on Saturday and Sunday mornings; main seasons run in Fall (Aug–Dec) and Spring (Jan–May)
• Price: Season fees cover the full program and remain the same regardless of attendance; missed practices, games, tournaments, or other club activities do not reduce or prorate the registration fee, and tournaments and clinics are optional with their fees included in registration.
Lightning Youth Field Hockey serves boys and girls in grades 1–12 and welcomes all skill levels, and it is not accepting players under the age of 5 years. The program follows updated USA Field Hockey (USAFH) age classifications for the 2025–26 club season, including Under-8, Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, and Under-19, with athletes allowed to play in older age divisions but not in younger ones. The club has an expectation that players attend a minimum of 80% of practices to be eligible to play in tournaments, and most tournaments are local, reaching as far north as San Francisco, east to UC Davis, and south to Gilroy. A pinnie is provided by the club, and required equipment includes a USAFH membership, shin guards, a mouth guard, a field hockey stick, a water bottle, and cleats or turf shoes.

The club is a member club of the USA Field Hockey Association and is described as the only parent volunteer-led field hockey club in the Bay Area, operated in Los Altos Hills, CA 94022. Lightning Youth Field Hockey states a commitment to growing and strengthening the field hockey community across the Bay Area, supports and encourages boys’ participation in field hockey, and notes a partnership with Longstreth Field Hockey. The program lists a leadership and coaching group that includes Head Coaches Connor, Yad, and Rajneesh; Coaches Amelia, Prisha, and Prateek; Assistant Coaches Jaiveer and Monisha; and additional coaching staff including Coach Conor, AC Keegan, Coach Carlton, Coach Yad, AC Jaiveer, Coach Rajneesh, and Coach Amelia.
