Campers are grouped by grade level (K–2nd, 3rd–4th, and 5th–8th) with an approximate 10:1 camper-to-counselor ratio, and each group rotates through a variety of different games and activities rather than focusing on a single sport.
A Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program will begin in Summer 2026 at the Los Altos location only, following the same full-day schedule as K–8 with smaller group sizes, modified activities, and additional breaks and transitions, and it is led by an experienced TK coordinator with a background in early childhood education. All Golden Eagle Summer Sports Camp counselors are CPR and First Aid certified and highly trained in the sports they lead, and the staff consists of local high school and college students, most of whom attended Golden Eagle as campers themselves.
Golden Eagle Summer Sports Camp has been family owned and operated by the Lodge Family since it was founded in the summer of 1984, and 2026 will mark its 42nd year as a family run business. The camp will operate rain or shine, and refunds will not be issued due to inclement weather. Golden Eagle Summer Sports Camp proudly serves families in Los Altos, Cupertino, and San Jose and is one of the longest-running summer camps in the area, and it offers a $20 referral for each new family that joins for one or more weeks with no limit on the number of families referred. The stated mission of Golden Eagle is to provide an environment for kids to lead an active healthy life while allowing them to be kids, have fun, and explore activities unique to their own interest.
