MVLA Soccer Club offers tryouts, girls teams, boys teams, the Shooting Stars beginner program, seasonal Bay Area Fall, Spring, and Winter Cup events, and the MVLA Winter Skills Camp. The Shooting Stars Spring 2026 program runs as a 10-week session that includes weekday sessions and optional Saturday play dates. The MVLA Winter Skills Camp runs February 17–20 and focuses on ball mastery, confidence, and creativity.

MVLA Soccer Club states that it strives to be the nation’s leading youth soccer club with exceptional coaches to develop highly technical and tactically advanced players who are prepared to compete and succeed at the highest levels. MVLA SC states that it has a place for every player, from beginner to elite, and describes Shooting Stars as its most popular beginner program for girls and boys in TK–3rd grade, designed to build confidence, coordination, and a true love for the game in a fun, positive environment.

The club’s leadership team includes Esteban Sosa, ECNL Girls Coach of the Year; Sporting Director Albertin Montoya; and Sarah Stanczyk, a Positive Coaching Alliance 2026 National Winner. As a player, Albertin Montoya helped deliver the club’s first national championship in 1993. Esteban Sosa coached his MVLA U16 girls squad to an ECNL National Championship at the ECNL Girls National Finals and coached his U15 girls team to the ECNL Girls National Finals, finishing as a Top 8 team in the age group. Montoya has served as a U.S. Youth National Team head coach and has led professional teams to national championships and NWSL success.

MVLA has been recognized as one of five clubs to qualify all six ECNL Girls teams for the playoffs and finished 7th in the overall club rankings. Team achievements include the 2011B Corinthians Green as 2026 JSC Showcase Tournament Champions, MVLA 2014G City Green taking first place in the GU12 Green Division at the Almaden Spring Kickoff, 14G City Blue winning their league in the NorCal U13 Premier Division, the 2014G Pre-ECNL team as NorCal State Cup Champions, and the 2018G Blue described as champions. Four MVLA players were selected for US Soccer U14 West Region Talent ID. Players Karlie Lema ’21 and Jasmine Aikey ’23 were called up to the United States U23 Women’s National Team, Garcia (10G NL) was selected to represent the Guatemala Women’s National Team in CONCACAF qualifiers, and Zuniga (10G NL) was called up to the U17 USWNT for the MIMA Cup in Spain. Sarah Stanczyk is noted as a Positive Coaching Alliance 2026 National Winner.

Esteban Sosa has said, “It's an honor and incredibly humbling to be named ECNL Girls Coach of the Year.” He has also said, “I am not the coach I am today without the help of my peers and the amazing coaching staff we have at MVLA. I'm so proud of our club's accomplishments this year and being in the top seven clubs in the country is something we take a lot of pride in.” Speaking about coaching in the ECNL, he has said, “What I love most about coaching in the ECNL is the level of learning that goes on as a coach both in playing against other amazingly talented teams, and having a staff that pushes me to continue learning through different ideas. The ECNL continues to prove why it's the best league in the country through some of the most competitive and well organized events throughout the year.”
