About
Risibisi Creative Space offers weekly creative classes where children take part in art and craft projects, as well as textile and fiber arts activities. The program also offers birthday parties with projects to take home, summer camps described as a full week of creative summer fun where children make art and make friends, and workshops for adults to get creative and connect with others.

Risibisi Creative Space moved into its studio space in 2022. The program’s mission states that the creative process is the focus of classes rather than the finished product, and that children are given freedom to explore different materials and make new connections. The mission also states that activities are age-appropriate and that children learn skills such as eye-hand coordination, fine motor skills, communication and collaboration, problem solving, social emotional skills, and creative thinking. The studio offers a free intro class.
Founder Stephanie Joos has been a speech therapist and elementary school teacher in Freiburg/Germany, Berkeley, and Mountain View, California, for about 15 years and obtained a Fashion Design degree in 2015. Artist and instructor Nabiya is a passionate, self-taught artist and content creator who loves calligraphy and painting, has collaborated with art brands like Plaid Crafts and KingArt company, and has extensive experience hosting art workshops and teaching all age groups. Art instructor Stephanie “Steph” is pursuing an Art History bachelor’s degree at San Jose State University, has experience teaching people of all ages to create candles in a studio, spent a year as an art teacher assistant in Campbell, and has over a year of experience teaching an after school crafts class to kindergarten through second grade. Art instructor Rezvan has a Bachelor’s in Visual and Fine Arts and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts and Media obtained in 2018, and has been teaching K–12 students since working as a Graduate Assistant and Teacher Assistant in college.
According to the program, classes focus on the joy of the creative process, offer a safe space for children to get messy and think outside the box, and use age-appropriate activities that support hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, social-emotional skills, and creative thinking. One parent testimonial states, “We are so glad we found this art center! My daughter loves process art. We just started classes at Risibisi in Los Altos and she loved the first session - we are so glad we found a great studio closer to home!”
