APEX: Active Play Experience for Kids

APEX: Active Play Experience for Kids offers games and activities that include a rock-climbing wall, trampoline, ball pit, basketball, soccer, monkey bars, climbing ladders, trapeze bars, and various obstacle course options. The indoor play space is set up with basketball hoops, soccer goals, and a wide range of balls for children to use during play. The program also has a large special events room for private birthday parties, which can host 15–35 child guests and includes a kitchenette for food and cake service.

• Schedule: Open Monday–Thursday 9 am–5 pm, Friday 9 am–12 pm, and Saturday–Sunday 10 am–5 pm

APEX: Active Play Experience for Kids states that it strives to be a dynamic, safe environment for children to learn, explore, and practice basic motor skills, and that acquiring these skills at a young age enhances development, improves body control, and builds self-confidence. Through games and activities, the program introduces young children to the proper form of fundamental movement skills, and instructor-led classes provide a setting to practice physical skills, build a foundation of athletic movements, build self-confidence, and encourage children to be the best they can be. The program notes that the safety of customers and staff is a top priority, that individuals showing signs of illness will not be admitted, and that frequent hand sanitizing will be encouraged for all who enter. Registration and payment are done online via the APEX for Kids app.

APEX: Active Play Experience for Kids is owned by Ed Sais. His first jobs were as a lifeguard and swim instructor for children, and for fourteen years he ran the classes at Bright Child, a kids’ gym and play space in Santa Monica. The program opened in August 2015.
