Afterschool Programming offers a wide range of activities, including Power Hour (Homework Help), Drivers Education, Co-Ed Volleyball, Drumline, Band, and Beyond the Bell Sports. The program also includes Keystone, Peaceful Connections, Artist in Training, Health & Fitness, Photography, Gaming Club, Crochet Club, Smart Girls, Passport to Manhood, 2D Animation, Interpretive Dance, Cyber Patriot, and College & Career Bound.

• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: Main office open Monday–Friday, 10:00 am–5:00 pm; applications available during and after school hours at participating school sites

For more than 50 years, the legacy Clubs Challengers, Bell Gardens, Watts, and Venice have served their neighborhoods. Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles states that every high school senior across all Clubs graduates on time with a post-graduate plan, prepared for college, career, or the next step in their journey. The organization reports that 100% of surveyed parents say they would recommend the Clubs to others. Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles serves youth across Metro LA, South LA, Inglewood, Venice, and Southeast LA and partners with the community for enriching experiences.

The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles is to bridge the opportunity gap for resource-limited youth by providing safe, empowering spaces to learn, explore, and dream, and by offering programs in academics, leadership, and wellness. The organization describes itself as a nonprofit dedicated to addressing inequities, providing safe spaces, and empowering kids to imagine and achieve great futures.

The leadership team includes Patrick Mahoney, President & CEO; Michelle Chinchilla, Senior Director of Strategy & Services; Carlos Hernandez, Director of College & Career Development; Kim Washington, VP of Philanthropy & Marketing; Veronica Jimenez, VP of Operations; Jocelyn Cortes, Director of Wellness & Support Services; Victoria Reaves, Director of Philanthropy; Karen Quiroz, Director of Athletics & Health; Alejandra “Purple” Liera, Director of Club Programs; Claudia Jimenez, Challengers Club Site Director; Jeanette Beltran, Bell Gardens Club Site Director; Edwin Morales, Watts/Willowbrook Club Site Director; Clarisse Austria, Venice Club Site Director; Luz Alvarado, Mark Twain Middle School Site Coordinator; Pam Mercado, Inglewood High School United Teen Coordinator; and Lorenzo Granados, Venice High School Teen Coordinator. Vivian is the 2026 BGCMLA Youth of the Year and co-winner of Los Angeles County Youth of the Year and will advance to the California Youth of the Year competition in Sacramento.
