RAZ Land is led by founder, creative director, teacher, and visionary Yael Lichaa, and artist, curator, art educator, and certified yoga instructor Lily Coyl. Yael earned a BA in Biology from Temple University in Philadelphia, studied painting and sculpture at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and earned a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education in 2008. In 2011, Yael joined STAR Education as a woodworking instructor in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles elementary schools. On December 9, 2018, Yael opened Robertson Art Zone (RAZ), which is now known as RAZ Land, and RAZ Land LLC has operated from 2018–2026. Lily is a visual artist, singer-songwriter, curator, poet, intuitive art and yoga instructor, and certified yoga instructor who practices art as a healing modality and a practice of attunement to greater love and the light of the creator.
RAZ Land describes its mission as “Transforming Lives Through Art and Storytelling” and “From Spectator to Creator!” and states that it fosters creativity, self-expression, and connection through art, offering classes, camps, events, and joyful artistic experiences for children and adults. One parent, Rebeccah M., described RAZ Land as a “great studio if you are looking for a space to rent or a class for you or your child,” and noted the “fun, beautiful studio space, warm support of Yael Lichaa, and the presence of the smiling children when she is teaching a class,” saying that the experience elevated her creativity, mindfulness, and freedom to grow and express herself artistically and that she highly recommends it.
