Art of Acting Studio Programs include classes and intensives in Acting Technique, Scene Study, On-Camera, Voice, Improvisation, Film & Television Acting Intensive, Summer Conservatory, Musical Theater for Film, and Physical Theater. The program offers part-time workshops, online workshops, and a full-time Los Angeles Professional Conservatory program. Summer Intensives include diverse actor training programs from 4 to 10 weeks each summer.

The Art of Acting Studio is the West Coast home of the Harold Clurman Laboratory Theater Company. The studio’s roots go back to Jacob P. Adler, Stella Adler, and Harold Clurman, and the Stella Adler Studio of Acting celebrates its 75th Anniversary in 2024. The studio’s mission is to create an environment with the purpose of nurturing theatre artists and audiences who value humanity, their own and others, as their first and most precious priority by providing art and education to the greater community. The Art of Acting Studio is an acting school and cultural center, and it affirms that the primary function of acting is to uplift humanity.
The scope of the school’s current activities includes professional actor training through a non-dogmatic approach and arts and cultural events that are free and open to the public. The Arts Justice Division provides free actor training to youth impacted by poverty and will expand programming and training in the years to come. The Art of Acting Studio is accredited with the National Association of Schools of Theatre and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theater. In accordance with provisions of the California Education Code 94866 and 94890, Art of Acting Studio has been licensed to operate as an accredited school by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education and is in compliance with state standards set forth in this chapter.
