United Friends of the Children – Housing & Education Programs for Foster Youth

United Friends of the Children – Housing & Education Programs for Foster Youth offers housing and education services for current and former foster youth. The Pathways program surrounds foster youth with positive role models and a service-enriched housing program, and the organization’s programs prepare more youth to graduate from high school and attend four-year colleges. The programs focus on commitment and consistency by building lasting, trusting relationships with youth and serve over 700 foster youth and caregiving families each year.

United Friends of the Children was founded in 1979 and has been serving foster youth since that time. Its mission is to empower current and former foster youth on their journey to self-sufficiency through service-enriched education and housing programs, advocacy, and consistent relationships with a community of people who care. United Friends is part of the Foster Youth Pre-College Collective, a coalition of California-based organizations that work to improve high school completion rates for foster youth.
