Dance Attack!

Dance Attack! offers classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Adaptive Dance, Lyrical, and a Performing Company. The program also includes combination classes such as Tap/Ballet, Junior Hip Hop, Hip Hop/Acro, and Dance Essentials (Tap/Ballet/Jazz), as well as Musical Theater classes. Dance Attack! also hosts birthday parties and provides studio rentals with mirrors and sound systems.

• Schedule: Class options are available Monday–Thursday afternoons and evenings, Friday mornings through evenings, Saturday mornings to early afternoon, and Sunday mornings.

Dance Attack! has been inspiring Bay Area dancers for 35 years. The stated vision and mission of Dance Attack! is to deliver top technical training while inspiring all students to develop confidence, community, life skills, and a love of learning. The faculty is described as passionate and experienced, with every instructor bringing professional expertise and a love for teaching. The program welcomes students of all skill levels and those with special needs, including teens and adults with developmental disabilities and individuals in wheelchairs, and offers Adaptive Dance classes designed for dancers with diverse abilities. Dance Attack! offers a Combo Program for students aged two and a half through eight years old that includes tap, ballet, and some jazz, and a full program for dancers involved in other sports, music, or theater activities who want to dance once or twice a week.

Dance Attack! holds a recital every other year for all dancers in a five-and-a-half-year-old class and older at a theater with more elaborate costumes and assigned-seating tickets. For three-and-a-half-year-old classes through six to eight-year-old classes, Dance Attack! presents a Candy Cane Concert in December and an Ice Cream Concert in June. The Performing Company performs at community events and offers additional technique classes, performance opportunities, and optional competitions throughout the year. Birthday party packages at the studio include dancing, games, and memories.

Dance Attack! states that it is dedicated to working with families to help ensure every dancer is able to participate, and notes that dancers who receive very specific accommodations at school or the workplace may be best suited to study dance in the Adaptive Dance program. The program states that dance combinations and full dances are always connected to the techniques that are introduced in class. The team includes many national scholarship finalists and national convention company members. Dance Attack! also notes that its studios are available to rent by the hour, offering clean, spacious rooms equipped with mirrors and sound systems.

Parent feedback includes comments such as a three-year-old taking tap, jazz, and ballet and the experience being “amazing” from “A to Z,” a child having a great experience with “great” teachers, and a parent being “blown away” by the crafts, routines, and fun during camp and planning to return.
